Many treatments involve some type of physical modality, or technique, to help with the symptoms or "side-effects" of spinal misalignment. Some of these are manipulative therapies to the skeletal structure, some are primarily focused on the soft tissues of the body.

 

At Balanced Body Chiropractic, we use Electrical Stimulation, Graston-type muscle releases, Post Isometric Relaxation, and Active Movement releases to enhance the ability of the muscles to move the body through its full range of motion without pain or restriction.

 

The newest and most effective technique we employ is Low Level Laser Therapy. This therapy method is designed to utilize the physiological components of the human cellular structure to eliminate scarring and promote faster growth of healthy tissue.

 

We know that scar tissue is not the same as healthy tissue. It is more disorganized and misshapen than the normal tissue. You can easily see this on any scars you may have on the skin. The scar represents an injury that healed, but did so in a disorganized and disrupted fashion, creating a different texture, contour, and feel than the surrounding skin tissue. It is less pliable, less sensitive and more restrictive to movement than the original tissue in the area. This same effect is seen on MRI when looking at sprains, strains, or muscle tears INSIDE the body as well.

 

Laser Therapy disrupts the scar tissue cellular structure causing it to weaken and be washed away in the normal circulation of the blood. At the same time, the laser promotes the cellular division of normal tissues allowing them to take the place of the scars. The purpose is then two-fold. To eliminate the scar tissue while promoting the rejuvenation of original tissues. This therapy is proven to work 40% faster than other modalities in reducing inflammation, eliminating destructive tissues, and promoting cellular growth of heallthy tissues.
